Reema Omar

Reema Gillani is a Sydny-based actor, director and theatre practitioner whose artistic journey began at an early age, growing up in a family of creatives. Her career spans stage, television and radio, with a particular passion for theatre and storytelling that explores human experiences and social issues.

At just 18, Reema joined the renowned Ajoka Theatre, a pioneering Pakistani theatre company recognised for its powerful work addressing human rights and social issues. This early experience laid the foundation for a career dedicated to meaningful and engaging performance.

Since moving to Australia, Reema has been a prominent presence in Melbourne’s independent theatre scene for more than two decades. Since joining Nautanki Theatre Company in 2015, she has taken on multiple roles across productions, working as an actor, director and Production Manager. Her credits include critically acclaimed productions such as Ten Years to Home and The Jungle Book.

Reema also served as Festival Manager for Nautanki’s South Asian Theatre Festival for six consecutive years, where she further demonstrated her versatility as an actor, writer and co-director. Her creative credits include Booha Kholo (The Closed Door) and Jahan Ara ke Teen Roop (The Three Faces of Jahan Ara).

Reema is reprising her role as Vasant in the third season of Ten Years to Home, following previous seasons in 2019 and 2024. With a wealth of experience across performance and production, Reema brings depth, authenticity and a strong commitment to storytelling to every project.
