With no prior acting experience, Tom was accepted by audition into a conservatory program at the Victoria Academy of Dramatic Arts in British Columbia, Canada. He graduated in 2023 with a Diploma in Acting for Film & TV, returning to complete the school's advanced diploma, Working With Directors, with the class of 2024. His first time on set involved a scripted role in an 8-minute single-shot sequence, with a roaming camera and choreographed action, under the direction of Arnold Lim.
Returning to Australia, Tom landed with Khans Entertainment, with whom he is co-represented along with Play Management Canada. His primary methodologies are Movement Psychology and Meisner Technique.
Prior to acting, Tom worked internationally as a whitewater rafting guide, sea kayak guide, firefighter and personal trainer. He is an alumnus of the University of Canberra and Australian National University, where he studied creative writing and English literature respectively. As a student, he underwent basic military training with the army reserve, and graded for a black belt in traditional jujitsu. He currently writes, runs, and practices hand balancing & gymnastic rings. Tom still guides people in the outdoors, which keeps him close to his primary source of inspiration, Nature.
